This is a big questions for the businesses I talk to regularly – service businesses, many of which run their businesses out of their homes.

I have recently decided to start a weekly broadcast giving marketing tips and info that I’m calling the Tuesday Marketing Tune-up and this was the topic of my first episode.

The short answer here is, NO.

Google does not need you to display your physical address in order to show your local service business on the map results displayed in search results.

If you haven’t yet signed up for Google My Business, then you will need to enter your physical address for postal verification, but once you’re verified, you do not need to display your address on your listing.
